Yesterday Animalcouriers enjoyed the sights of Spain as they drove through that beautiful country and crossed into Portugal.
Our first collection was Natalia in the Algarve, who for a while was the only dog on our trip. After Natalie it was the turn of Pedro and Vera’s four cats, also collected in the Algarve region. Vera is already working at Prêt à Manger in Birmingham. Now that Vera has found accommodation that accepts cats, Pedro and their four cats are off to join her. In the meantime, Pedro has been learning to speak what is now very good English.
Tom’s Chihuahua Coco, collected in Ayamonte, a town on the border between Portugal and Spain, doubled the number of dogs on board, and was followed by another cat called Honey (whose story you can read in a separate blog).
Then is was the turn of Staffie Arfar in Estepona. Living on a farm, he’d been badly bitten, so Matt decided to offer him a new home. Staffies are sensitive dogs who are very often misunderstood. Now Arfar lives with Matt’s parents who are moving to the UK — and are of course taking Arfar with them.
And with Collie Foxydog from Malaga on board, our passenger list is complete for today. Foxy travelled with us last year from Ireland to Spain. Her owner Jorge has now moved to Paris. We were honoured that Foxy could wait to travel until we could collect her. In the meantime, she’s been in the tender care of her grandad José in Malaga.
