Reuniting Oli and Bambi with their families

Animalcouriers delivered Golden Retriever Oli and Chihuahua Bambi to their respective owners in the Marbella region of Spain. Everyone — canine and human — was very glad to be back together. Oli was overjoyed to be back with his family Here's a closer look at that interesting mountain in the background — which is where Oli's family live Bambi was a very happy chappie to be back in Diane's arms Here's Bambi's entry for the 'longest tongue' competition

Last stop in Portugal before making our way back to Spain

Animalcouriers stopped off in Albufeira to visit our friends at kennels and cattery Animal Inn Guia. Everyone — our passengers, kennel visitors and house dogs — enjoyed a wonderful walk in the campo as the air cooled down. Striding out with our canine chums Three-legged Buster tags along at the back Nikita and Buster have a little chat Buster is clever enough to know that if he walks slowly enough, his dad will eventually pick him up and carry him! We thought at first this curious creature must be from a Portuguese [...]

Collecting Nikita, who is swapping Portugal for the UK

Last night Animalcouriers reached Lugo in Galicia, in the north west of Spain. This morning we dropped off the intrepid feline duo Lewis and Clarke at a cattery near El Camino de Santiago (the pilgrims' route), before crossing into Portugal to collect the lovely Nikita from the Braga area. Nikita is travelling with us to the UK where she'll be reunited with her owner, Filipa, who's now living in Guildford. Filipa is very glad to have found a way for Nikita to join her, as she's really missing her. It's easy to understand why — Nikita is gentle and friendly as [...]

Hens are now at home, and we have explored the Armagnac region

Yesterday Animalcouriers delivered Jenny's 13 hens to her at their new home in the Dordogne, in France. We had five eggs in total during the course of the trip — very impressive (and delicious). In the evening we stopped at a charming chambres d'hotes (B&B) called La Petite Plaine near Montaigu de Quercy. Our host Karin hails originally from Rio de Janeiro where she was a government translator — she speaks an astonishing number of languages. A woman of many talents, she's also spent time working for the WWF in Zambia. The first cage of hens leaves the van And here [...]

Maggie and Becky have become the best of friends

Animalcouriers transported Maggie from Greece to the UK in May this year. Abandoned and poorly, Maggie was lucky enough to be rescued by Eleni and nursed back to health, then adopted by Sara in the UK. Maggie and Sara's Poodle Becky immediately hit it off when they met, and their bond has gone from strength to strength, as Sara tells us: "Maggie has now been with us for two months, and I can report that Becky and Maggie are best friends. Also, Maggie loves to go in the park without the leash and she is becoming a very obedient dog. Great [...]

Niga and Viking are swapping London for Amsterdam

Niga and Viking's owners have already left the UK for the Netherlands. Ideally, these two pets would have been on the same flight, but BA doesn't carry pets at the weekend. So they'll be jetting off early next week. In the meantime, Niga is homeboarding with Animalcouriers while Viking spends a few days at a cattery. Black dogs like Niga are always hard to photograph! Niga watches a storm from the safety of indoors Viking joined Niga at the vets for a pre-flight check-up. A very laid-back puss, reports courier J who had the pleasure [...]

Dogs, cats and hens set off for France and Spain

Animalcouriers' latest trip to France and Spain set off yesterday. First on board was Golden Retriever Olie, who's been home boarding with courier M and is travelling with us to Marbella in Spain. We also collected a handsome pair of cats called Lewis and Clarke; Bambi the Chihuahua; and Boris the Waterdog. Jenny's hens joined us in Oxford and are on their way to the Dordogne. Jenny was very glad Animalcouriers could transport her hens, but we suspect she hadn't envisaged quite how much organisation would be involved. They needed a vet's visit, an export health certificate and an animal transport certificate. We [...]

Jacky from Italy has settled into UK life

Animalcouriers recently transported young Spitz Jacky from Turin to rejoin his owners, Alex and Diana, in the UK. They were a bit nervous that Jacky might have forgotten them when they arrived to collect him, but not a bit of it — he went bonkers when he saw them! Alex sent some lovely photos to show us how well Jacky's doing, and told us: "We just wanted to say a final thank you for everything you did. It's been nearly a week that we've had Jacky here and we are enjoying every day spent with him. Without Animalcouriers it would have [...]
