Animalcouriers’ latest trip to France and Spain set off yesterday. First on board was Golden Retriever Olie, who’s been home boarding with courier M and is travelling with us to Marbella in Spain. We also collected a handsome pair of cats called Lewis and Clarke; Bambi the Chihuahua; and Boris the Waterdog.
Jenny’s hens joined us in Oxford and are on their way to the Dordogne. Jenny was very glad Animalcouriers could transport her hens, but we suspect she hadn’t envisaged quite how much organisation would be involved. They needed a vet’s visit, an export health certificate and an animal transport certificate. We had to pre-book the journey so that Animal Health and the ship’s captain knew the hens were coming. And there are foxes in the area they’re moving to in France, so Jenny and her husband have had to create somewhere safe for the hens to live. All in all Jenny reckons it’s cost about £2,000! When she discussed the expenditure with her husband, he said, “Well, they’re part of the family.”
