Through customs at Famagusta with only a slight hitch

At Famagusta port we checked in, claimed our tickets for the ferry, and went through passport control. It was all going swimmingly until we got to customs. The log book for Janet's car is in joint names with her husband, who isn't travelling on this trip. Customs' view was that Janet could be taking the car out of North Cyprus without his permission. So thinking quickly on our feet, we reconvened our party and are now all travelling in just two vehicles: Diana's car and the Animalcouriers van. On the road to Famagusta to catch the ferry to Turkey

Animalcouriers met up with the owners of Reo, Jasper, Tink and Roxy at the KAR office earlier this afternoon and we were soon on our way towards the port of Famagusta. There was quite an air of excitement about the whole thing! Stocking up at the supermarket on water and snacks for tonight's ferry crossing, we bumped into Chris and Tina, the owners of Black Lab Winston who we brought to North Cyprus almost a fortnight ago! Meeting at the KAR offices to get everything set for our foray into Turkey

Yesterday we met with Margaret and Kim from KAR, at their lovely new office, Reo's owner Jayne, and Diane who owns Jasper, Roxy and Tink. Brandy's owner Janet was with us in spirit as she lives a long way out of town. Straight after the meeting, Jayne, Diane and Janet went off to get their Turkish declarations notarised, and permission to drive their cars in Turkey. To Australia with George and Charlie

Boxer George and King Charles Spaniel Charlie boarded their flight to Sydney last night at London Heathrow.Animalcouriers collected them yesterday afternoon in the Birmingham area for their trip to the airport. Both dogs were absolutely ready to pose for the camera at every opportunity!
