As you may imagine, while we’ve been holed up at Tasucu port, we’ve been looking at all sorts of options for continuing our journey with the seven dogs who’ve travelled with us from North Cyprus.
We continue to be very well supported by the dogs’ owners, KAR, and Petical Vets in Mersin.
Our current plan depends on the government vet supporting the movement of the dogs through Turkey. The first step is for couriers J and M to return to North Cyprus with the dogs on the ferry tonight, and then set out again for Tasucu in the next couple of days with the dogs and their owners. Once through customs at the port, the owners can hand their dogs over to us and we can continue on our way.
If the government vet is prepared to support us, then Petical Vets will also be able to assist us with fresh paperwork and other practicalities.
The dogs are being incredibly sweet and we feel like one big family. In between walks and snoozes we chat to them and feed them biscuits, and their tails wag and thump.
I will cross my paws for you , that all things will fall into place. Maybe Brandy has this large stick with a special purpose?
Ha ha ha! Easy, you do make us laugh 😀 and we need it.
No dog left behind – onward. Good plan.
It is very much still a plan… We’ll see what spoke benders they try to poke us with but there is certainly hope 😉
Through all the hassle and red tape you all have been through, both animals and couriers seem to be taking it in stride. I have always admired resiliency – ALL of you have that! Perhaps this latest tact will solve the problem and everybody will be on their way FINALLY to their destinations.
Pam and Sam
You are so sweet! The support from everyone has been so encouraging and is very much appreciated. Couriers J&M will be pleased to reach North Cyprus for a day (at least) so they can wallow in some hot, bubbly water and the dogs will be pleased on that count too 😀
what lovely, patient people you are! Trust Brandy to find a stick,he hasnt changed!
He certainly chose a good one!
Brandy looks like he’s ready to tell the port authorities a thing or two…
Yes, and he is shaking that stick at you!
Good luck, I hope everything will be better tomorrow. At least the dogs seem to be quite happy travelling around with you.
Thanks. It’s always so interesting to see the dogs settle into a routine. Happens very quickly.
They’ll probably quite a close knit group by this point! They are all ‘in it’ together for the adventure!
They do settle in together. Shame the back drop isn’t more interesting though.
Loks like Brandy has decided to paddle your way out of a predicament….are the others trying to get a dinghy ? safe travels 🙂
Wonderful – can just see them as Navy Seals!
Trip sorted! 🙂 safe travels to all )
Good on you all for keeping calm and keeping the dogs calm and stimulated/
Thanks Zena – the dogs have coped so well, poor things.
Good luck guys! x
Thanks Anita. Here’s hoping…
Wow that is a good stick! Hope you get sorted soon
We gather that sticks are brandy’s thing!
Brandy isn’t brandy unless he has a stick or pop bottle to chew 🙂
We shall make sure there is always a good selection for him to choose from!
Awwwwy, you probably miss everyone once they are home. I love that Brandy has found a piece of treasure and proudly bringing it back to the family. HA, they’re so charming.
