Unfortunately, earlier delays with ferries caught up with Animalcouriers yesterday and we missed the boat from Tasucu to North Cyprus by a matter of minutes. Thankfully, we’ve been able to book onto another ferry this evening that leaves from a different port in Turkey — Mersin. We have a cabin booked and will be able to check on all the pets whenever we need to.

Our passengers are all well and taking the delay in their stride. The dogs especially enjoyed exploring some Roman ruins next to an idyllic beach this morning. Our somewhat gloomy mood was lifted by a very friendly tour guide who showed us around the amphitheatre and the agora — but the only word we definitely understood was ‘mosaic’!

Sorry, no photo of Winston today but we’ll take some of him in North Cyprus tomorrow.

Definitely not one of our passengers!

Our ferry to Famagusta in North Cyprus. Waiting for departure, but no-one seems to know exactly when that will be. Welcome to Turkey! It's a lovely country but one where you simply have to take things as they come (or go)…

Mersin is Turkey's busiest port. We just had supper (rice with lamb and vegetable stew, cooked on board) with the ferry crew as they are so taken with the dogs. Winston is their favourite by a very slight margin!
