Solving the Dylan puzzle

Mairetta the vet was her usual helpful and kind self when we visited her in Castiglione Di Lago. There was a moment of concern, however. When she read Dylan's microchip, the number that came up on the reader didn't match his paperwork. Theoretically it could have meant that he wasn't the dog covered by the paperwork, so it's an issue we had to take seriously. We phoned Margaret at KAR to see if she had any information to help, but she didn't. So poor Dylan had to be spreadeagled on the vet's table while we ran two microchip readers over [...]

Syko and Nero fly to Perth, Australia

Handsome black-and-white cats Syko and Nero are known fondly as the 'Omani bin boys'. Their owner Carol adopted them in Oman and they've now arrived in Australia, via the UK. They're spending a month in quarantine at Byford Kennels before they can go home with Carol and her husband. That month fulfils part of the Australian import requirements  — they also had to spend six months in quarantine in the UK, during which they stayed at Burntwood Kennels and Cattery. Chico has reached his new home in Portugal

Animalcouriers recently arranged for Chico, a gorgeous young Cockerpoo, to travel from Manchester to the Algarve. His new owner, Lynda, was very excited about receiving him, but managed to be patient until he arrived on Monday. Lynda wrote to say: "He is here at last!! Thank you all for everything."
