Last night (which for the eagle-eyed among you was of course Friday, not Sunday!) we stayed near Lyon airport. We were in a lovely hotel run by two very sweet guys who had every detail very well thought out. Including a smashing breakfast! Le Petit Casset. We are due to cross into the UK on Sunday morning.
Orphan has been staying at Le Jardin des Chats cat hotel near Montpellier. Courier A collected him yesterday and looked after him overnight. Later today he'll join courier R's trip heading towards the UK. He's a handsome and friendly dark grey tabby with a good appetite. We're sure Julien will be very excited to have him home.
We approached the Fréjus tunnel yesterday afternoon with a certain amount of trepidation, wondering how the French officials would react to our cargo. "Sacré bleu!" "Mon dieu!" "De Chypre du Nord, avec quinze chiens?" Exclamations that were swiftly followed by the usual French composure. "D'accord, un moment," as they reached for the phone to call Animal Health in Dover. Who were closed, as it's late on Friday.
