Boarding the ferry to Bari

We had the pleasure of walks on the beach this evening, but only Mojo dared to put his paws in the water! We're on the overnight sailing from Igoumenitsa to the Italian port of Bari, where we're due to arrive at 7.00am local time. The dogs are all tucked up and hopefully the crossing will be calm. We have a place on the open deck, so will be able to check on everyone in the van later tonight.

Meanwhile in sunny Spain…

Courier R reached Fuengirola yesterday afternoon, where A, Animalcouriers' agent in Spain, is based. Earlier in the day he'd dropped off Poppy the cat with Zoe and Paul at Paws and Claws Cattery in Albox, Almeria. Still on board were Jessie, a beautiful little grey cat, and Skye the Staffie. Jessie's long journey had started in Aberdeen, but she had travelled well and seemed very relaxed. Agent A accompanied R to deliver Jessie to her owners. Skye came into A's house to meet A's daughter and they had great fun playing with a tennis ball. R then took Skye for a long walk [...]

Onward to Italy

Last night we stayed in Thessaloniki, at a hotel just over a mile from Makedonia Airport. Which was very handy, as it meant Sami could fly in with Spooky the cat from Nine Lives Greece, an organisation we've worked with before. It had suddenly become urgent to get Spooky to the UK, and this way we could add her to the passenger list without disrupting the dogs' journey. With Spooky safely on board, we're now on our way to Igoumenitsa where we'll pick up the ferry to Italy. So there's a bit of time now to reflect on our passengers [...]
