When Gunther and Ilona decided to leave their Spanish Finca and head back to Germany, their biggest concern was how they would manage it with their enormous family of rescue dogs and cats. They asked Animalcouriers to help. We were very impressed when we arrived. Everyone was ready and waiting, noses pressed against the gates and tails on the go! Holly the Yorkie joined Animalcouriers at Porto in Portugal for her trip to Middlesborough. She took a morning walk outside the Castle of Monterrei near Verin, in Spain's Galician region. She was definitely more interested in sniffing than in history.
Bertie the Beagle joined us in Southern Portugal and is travelling to Essex. He's a senior gent with a touch of arthritis, so needs a helping hand in and out of the Animalcouriers van. But once he's out, he's off like a shot.
Loqui is a cute Cocker Spaniel boy who joined the Animalcouriers trip in Guadix, Spain. Guadix is famous for its troglodyte dwellings. Loqui has such a keen nose we suspect he's probably spent a lot of time delving down holes!
These three alcoholically named cats (Mahou is a Spanish beer; you probably know what the other two are) have been living in Spain but are now heading for the UK with Animalcouriers. All three were strays, adopted by Sarah, who's gone on ahead to prepare for their arrival. Meanwhile, her long-suffering mum and dad have been looking after them. As they have dogs in the house, Sarah's dad converted his log shed into a marvellous cattery — it's actually better than some commercial ones we've seen. Quite a sacrifice.
