Oscar’s first morning in his Spanish home

John and Oscar sat out enjoying the sunshine this morning. Who is following who around, we wonder? Is John keeping an eye on Oscar, or has Oscar already become John and Margaret's shadow? And then the builders arrived, here to make the garden wall much higher so that John and Margaret will know Oscar is always safe when he's out playing. Oscar quickly made firm friends of Pepe and his team, who thought he was 'muy guapo.'

Secret club den

The location of the Mini Schauzer Club's den is a secret known only to a select few. It's hidden away under a table in a corner of the house, reached through a secret door in the kitchen, followed by a trek through the conservatory. This is where they hold their daily morning meetings and ponder on life's great mysteries...like what happened to all the bones? Did we really eat them all yesterday? And still no decision about whether to grant honorary membership to Billywhizz.

Oscar keeps busy

Oscar had a very busy time from the moment he arrived at John and Margaret's yesterday evening. He's encountered steps, and looked very satisfied when he managed to climb up a couple; but couldn't work out how to come back down. Margaret had to step in and give him some tips. He then had a mad five minutes charging round the garden, then promptly sat down with the hiccups. Oscar decided he liked watching sport on the TV, especially footie and cricket. The handover

What a day it was for John and Margaret yesterday, waiting for Oscar. 1300: John was sitting on his balcony just in case Animalcouriers came up the road and he missed them. 1400: John was on the roof of his house with binoculars trained on the motorway in the hope of spotting Animalcouriers as we came by. 1500: John was sitting on the patio, with a good view of the bottom of the road, just in case he missed Animalcouriers coming round the corner. 1600: Getting a bit desperate by now, John opened the gates — where were Animalcouriers? 1700: [...]
