Back to the UK from Portugal with 15 passengers

On our journey back to the UK from Portugal, our passenger list comprised two dogs and 13 cats. Brett English Bulldog Brett was bred by José in Lisbon. Ernie in Norfolk was due to receive Brett some time ago. However, the person transporting Brett took a fancy to him and decided he wanted to keep him. A year and a court case later, Brett is finally on his way to Ernie — this time travelling with Animalcouriers! On the road from the UK to Spain and Portugal

Animalcouriers set off with pets travelling from the UK to Spain and Portugal. Alongside our canine passengers, we have a budgerigar and a bearded dragon. Stitch Myriam and family are moving from London to Barcelona. Their new home in Barcelona needs a lot of work doing when they get there. So while that's all going on, they thought it would be more relaxing for their beloved pug Stitch to stay with his grandmother, Angèle, in Saint Cyprien. Courier Dave collected gorgeous Stitch from his London address Stitch arriving at Angèle's home in the south of France [...]

When Richard met Teddy — and more about Central Bark in Manchester

Six of the dogs who recently travelled with us by air and road from Greece headed to the Central Bark Beach Dog Café in Manchester. The café works with Starlight Barking Trust and Lesvos Stray Cat and Dog Adoptions to help stray and unwanted Greek dogs find new homes in the UK. Run by Tony and Tania, the Beach Dog Café is open to anyone, and especially welcomes dog-owners and dog-lovers. It's also an opportunity for people to meet dogs, like these six, who are looking for forever homes. Tony and Tania take on a few dogs at a time, who get to enjoy all the brilliant [...]

Meeting a cat from Italy, and dogs and a rabbit from Greece

Having delivered all their passengers from the UK, couriers M and J collected Pipi the cat from Italy. They then headed to the Italian port of Bari, where courier J hopped on the ferry to Patras in Greece. Pipi We transported Pipi to Fondi last year for her owner Jane. Now it's time for Jane and her partner to return to the UK, and Pipi is once again travelling with Animalcouriers. We had fun and games rounding up Pipi. We told Jane that Pipi was OK, but a bit annoyed with us, to which Jane said: Haha 😂 she is feisty but [...]

To and from Italy with cats and dogs

While couriers J and M continue their journey collecting pets in Italy and Greece, courier Richard made a shorter trip to and from Italy with cats and dogs. Beagles Ollie and Maggie, cat Tito, and dog-and-cat family Margaux, Gaspare and Baguette travelled out; while Wess and Dylan hopped on board for the return trip. Ollie and Maggie It was an early Monday morning start, but worth it to meet the Queen Mary 2 as she docked at Southampton. Among the VIPs on board were Ollie and Maggie, two of the sweetest Beagles you could meet. Their journey had started in [...]

Leaving the UK with five dogs and four cats

Couriers J and M set off from the UK with five dogs and four cats on board who are joining their families in France and Italy. Tess and Sausage Basset Hound Tess and Sausage the Spaniel belong to Steve and his family, who've moved to Clermont l'Herault in the Languedoc region of France. We collected the dogs from Rita in Dorset, who took care of them for a few days while the family went on ahead to roll out the red carpet. What a great pair of characters these two are Rita told us she would miss [...]

Transporting cats from France to the UK

Courier Richard recently made a couple of trips transporting cats from France to the UK. Grizzly Grizzly (so named because as a kitten he looked like a little bear) and his family have swapped Marseille for London. Owners Jane and Ian had to leave Marseille before Grizzly could travel, so they asked their neighbour Eric to take care of him. But Grizzly must have heard we were on our way, because he disappeared! Jane flew to Marseille in the hope of luring him back, but there was no sign of him. So our courier left empty handed. Fortunately, the second attempt [...]

Roundup of news about recent passengers: Castor, Jim, Haricot, Rubble, Tara and Rocco

We have a few snippets of news about some recent passengers from our last trip round southern Europe. And just before couriers M and J set off on that trip, courier Richard did a quick channel hop to France to meet a young fellow called Castor. Castor It was a sunny Saturday in April when courier Richard popped over to the heart of Paris to collect Castor, a two-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel‎. Castor, who belongs to Matthew, was a model passenger, jumping happily out of his bedroom for a walk, then hopping straight back in and snoozing his way up [...]

Heading to the UK with five dogs from Spain

On board as we head towards the UK are five dogs from Spain. They're a great bunch of playful, friendly characters who all love their walks. Rocco In the port town of Tarifa — a mecca for sand surfers — we met up with Franciska, who arrived the night before from Morocco with lovely little Rocco, who she rescued from the streets. Franciska was working in Morocco when she found herself adopted by Rocco, and couldn't leave her behind. It's quite complicated transporting dogs from Morocco, and they'd had to wait a while for Rocco's travel documents to come through. [...]
