Although Jenga reached the UK safely in the end, the following story we received from Heather makes us wonder if Jenga isn’t just the teensiest bit jinxed…

“We’ve been staying in Oxford with Chris’ family, and decided to take a walk into town. Well, we were crossing the street on a bridge over a canal when, for some reason, Jenga decided to hop the barrier (expecting grass, I presume). He fell about 12 feet into icy cold water, and everyone around was screaming and trying to figure out how to get him out.

“We threw a float device to him but of course he didn’t really know what to do with it. After what felt like forever, he somehow got up onto a patch of ice, and over to the edge of the canal where close to a dozen people reached down to lift him up. A nearby pub invited us in where he was covered in towels, given a sausage, and got to lie by the fire to warm up.

“When we got home, he went straight into bed and under the covers. The poor guy doesn’t like water even in the summer when we all go swimming, much less an icy cold canal. Thank you for getting him here safely, even if he’s not keeping himself very safe while he’s here!”
